Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. ~ Matthew 7:13,14
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. ~ Romans 1:16
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. ~ Hebrews 9:27,28
One of the biggest challenges that one can face is standing boldly for your faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Fear of man is one of those things that seems to get to even the strongest among our brothers.I had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with Gary at the J Bay Open. While the event is in the world media due to the shark encounter, it will stick in my mind forever for the right reasons.Gary and two of us went to the event to share the gospel on Tuesday. There was some commotion with the organizers as they felt that spreading the gospel should not be done there, but Gary stood strong and – he continued to do what he does best – preached.I handed out some tracts, although the opportunity to have a one on one conversation with someone did not come my way, I had the privilege to observe how the message of the gospel affected the passersby. It was heartbreaking to see a young boy, about 11 years old, heckle and shout that there is no God. He was aggressive and had a lot to say about the man preaching, when my brother gave him and his friend one of the “What If” tracts, he tore his up immediately and ripped his friend’s out of his hand and tore it up too. He was part of a group of young people, and there was this girl, somewhat older that was part of this group, she came closer and spent a while listening intently to what was being said. The rest of the group called her to sit with them, about 15m away. I watched her, and my heart was so glad to see how she repositioned her body, tilted her head to make sure she could still hear what Gary was saying. There [also] was this one guy that shouted from a distance that Gary should stop screaming at him, and then the surfer dude that I thought was a real beach bum (the danger of taking a book by its cover) he walked past and loudly said, “Preach It Brother!!” It is amazing to see the different responses from the people when they are faced with the truth. There was a young mother that stood next to me and listened to the word for a long time. When she left she asked me to thank Gary.Back at home that afternoon, I reflected on the day and was overcome with the power there is in an outreach like that morning, we will never know who heard and to who’s conscience was spoken. There is power in spreading the gospel this way.I only came to know how the ministry works and how important it is, when two days later I parked my car about 50m away from the spot we whereat, and the car guard greeted me with “Morning pastor” although I am not a pastor, it just showed that even if we did not see him that day he was reached. As I walked toward the gate another car guard shouted, “Yes for Jesus.” As long as we just do what is commanded and spread the Gospel, there will be ears to hear.Blessings

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. ~ Deuteronomy 32:39-43
