Sodom and Gommorah is Here!

Nations the world over, including our beloved South Africa, who have turned their backs on their Creator GOD YHVH, by promulgating heinous, evil and wicked sinful laws of legalising homosexual marriages in direct violation of YHVH’s Commands will receive HIS righteous judgment as we are reminded in Scripture:
16 The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

Sodomites / catamites and lesbians are an abomination before the Lord GOD Almighty and therefore shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death, unless they repent of their wicked ways before GOD and call upon HIS blessed Son Jesus Christ as the substitutionary atonement for their sins to save them from GOD’s wrath! The Lord Jesus Christ is the homosexuals’ only hope to find peace with GOD and escape Hell!

"The Forbidden Chapter" in the Tanakh

The video hereunder shows the Gospel of Yeshua haMeshiach (Jesus the Christ) being shared in Hebrew from “The Forbidden Chapter” in the Tanakh, which is the prophecy of the Jewish Messiah, the Lamb of God Who was to be crucified and by His shed blood He would redeem His people. Were Atomic Bombs Necessary to End World War Two?

This year, 2015, will mark the 70th anniversary of the dropping of the Atom bomb on Hiroshima, 6 August 1945 and Nagasaki, 9 August 1945.

Did the Atomic Bombs Actually Save Lives?
 
I was taught that the U.S. dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order to end WWII and save both American and Japanese lives. But most of the top American military officials at the time said otherwise. The U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey group, assigned by President Truman to study the air attacks on Japan, produced a report in July of 1946 that concluded: "Based on a detailed investigation of all the facts and supported by the testimony of the surviving Japanese leaders involved, it is the Survey’s opinion that certainly prior to 31 December 1945 and in all probability, prior to 1 November 1945, Japan would have surrendered, even if the atomic bombs had not been dropped, even if Russia had not entered the war, and even if no invasion had been planned or contemplated."
 
Atomic Weapons Were Not Needed to End the War, or to Save Lives
 
General (and later president) Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of all Allied Forces, said: "The Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing." (Newsweek, 11/11/63, Ike on Ike). Eisenhower also noted: "In July 1945, Secretary of War Stimson, visiting my headquarters in Germany, informed me that our government was preparing to drop an atomic bomb on Japan. I was one of those who felt that there were a number of cogent reasons to question the wisdom of such an act… I voiced to him my grave misgivings, first on the basis of my belief that Japan was already dLarget concentration of Christiansefeated and that dropping the bomb was completely unnecessary, and secondly because I thought that our country should avoid shocking world opinion by the use of a weapon whose employment was, I thought, no longer mandatory as a measure to save American lives. It was my belief that Japan was, at that very moment, seeking some way to surrender with a minimum loss of ‘face’. The Secretary was deeply perturbed by my attitude…."
 
Unnecessary and Unethical
 
Admiral William Leahy, the highest ranking member of the U.S. military from 1942 until retiring in 1949, who was the first de facto Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wrote: "It is my opinion that the use of this barbarous weapon at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender because of the effective sea blockade and the successful bombing with conventional weapons. The lethal possibilities of atomic warfare in the future are frightening. My own feeling was that in being the first to use it, we had adopted an ethical standard common to the barbarians of the Dark Ages. I was not taught to make war in that fashion, and wars cannot be won by destroying women and children."
 
No Military Justification
 
General Douglas MacArthur agreed: "MacArthur’s views about the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were starkly different from what the general public supposed…. He saw no military justification for the dropping of the bomb. The war might have ended weeks earlier, if the United States had agreed, as it later did anyway, to the retention of the institution of the emperor."
 
The Potsdam Threat
 
Moreover: The Potsdam Declaration, in July 1945, demanded that Japan surrender unconditionally, or face ‘prompt and utter destruction’. MacArthur was appalled. He knew that the Japanese would never renounce their emperor, and that without him an orderly transition to peace would be impossible anyhow, because his people would never submit to Allied occupation unless he ordered it. Ironically, when the surrender did come, it was conditional, and the condition was a continuation of the imperial reign. Had the General’s advice been followed, the resort to atomic weapons at Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have been unnecessary.
 
MiRuined churchssed Opportunity
 
Assistant Secretary of War John McLoy noted: "I have always felt that if, in our ultimatum to the Japanese government issued from Potsdam (July 1945), we had referred to the retention of the emperor as a constitutional monarch and had made some reference to the reasonable accessibility of raw materials to the future Japanese government, it would have been accepted… We missed the opportunity of effecting a Japanese surrender, completely satisfactory to us, without the necessity of dropping the bombs."
 
The War was Already Won
 
Under Secretary of the Navy, Ralph Bird said: "The Japanese were ready for peace, and they already had approached the Russians and the Swiss. And that suggestion of giving a warning of the atomic bomb was a face-saving proposition for them, and one that they could have readily accepted. In my opinion, the Japanese war was really won before we ever used the atom bomb. Thus, it wouldn’t have been necessary for us to disclose our nuclear position and stimulate the Russians to develop the same thing much more rapidly than they would have if we had not dropped the bomb… The Japanese were becoming weaker and weaker. They were surrounded by the Navy. They couldn’t get any imports and they couldn’t export anything. Naturally, as time went on and the war developed in our favour it was quite logical to hope and expect that, with the proper kind of a warning, the Japanese would then be in a position to make peace, which would have made it unnecessary for us to drop the bomb and bring Russia in." It Had Nothing to do with Ending the War
 
General Curtis LeMay, the tough cigar-smoking Army Air Force "hawk", stated publicly shortly after the nuclear bombs were dropped on Japan: "The war would have been over in two weeks… The atomic bomb had nothing to do with the end of the war at all."
 
No Invasion was Necessary
 
The Vice Chairman of the U.S. Bombing Survey Paul Nitze wrote: "I concluded that even without the atomic bomb, Japan was likely to surrender in a matter of months. My own view was that Japan would capitulate by November 1945. Even without the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it seemed highly unlikely, given what we found to have been the mood of the Japanese government, that a U.S. invasion of the islands scheduled for 1 November 1945 would have been necessary."

Deputy Director of the Office of Naval Intelligence Ellis Zacharias wrote: "Just when the Japanese were ready to capitulate, we went ahead and introduced to the world the most devastating weapon it had ever seen and, in effect, gave the go-ahead to Russia to swarm over Eastern Asia. Washington decided it was time to use the A-bomb. I submit that it was the wrong decision. It was wrong on strategic grounds. And it was wrong on humanitarian grounds." Immoral and Unnecessary
 
Brigadier General Carter Clarke, the Military Intelligence officer in charge of preparing summaries of intercepted Japanese cables for President Truman and his advisors, said: "When we didn’t need to do it, and we knew we didn’t need to do it, and they knew that we knew we didn’t need to do it, we used them as an experiment for two atomic bombs. Many other high-level military officers concurred. For example: The commander in chief of the U.S. Fleet and Chief of Naval Operations, Ernest J. King, stated that the naval blockade and prior bombing of Japan in March of 1945, had rendered the Japanese helpless and that the use of the atomic bomb was both unnecessary and immoral."
 
A Double Crime
 
"Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz stated in a press conference on September 22, 1945, that ‘The Admiral took the opportunity of adding his voice to those insisting that Japan had been defeated before the atomic bombing and Russia’s entry into the war.’ In a subsequent speech at the Washington Monument on October 5, 1945, Admiral Nimitz stated ‘The Japanese had, in fact, already sued for peace before the atomic age was announced to the world with the destruction of Hiroshima and before the Russian entry into the war.’ It was learned also that General Eisenhower had urged Truman, in a personal visit, not to use the atomic bomb. Eisenhower’s assessment was ‘It wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing… to use the atomic bomb, to kill and terrorize civilians, without even attempting negotiations, was a double crime.’ Eisenhower also stated that it wasn’t necessary for Truman to ‘succumb’ to the tiny handful of people putting pressure on the president to drop atom bombs on Japan."

"British officers were of the same mind. For example, General Sir Hastings Ismay, Chief of Staff to the British Minister of Defence, said to Prime Minister Churchill that ‘when Russia came into the war against Japan, the Japanese would probably wish to get out on almost any terms short of the dethronement of the Emperor.’ On hearing that the atomic test was successful, Ismay’s private reaction was one of ‘revulsion.’"
 
Why Were Bombs Dropped on Populated Cities Without Military Value?
 
Even military officers who favoured use of nuclear weapons mainly favoured using them on unpopulated areas, or Japanese military targets… not cities.
 
Demonstration Proposed
 
Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy Lewis Strauss proposed that a non-lethal demonstration of atomic weapons would be enough to convince the Japanese to surrender… and the Navy Secretary agreed: "I proposed to Secretary Forrestal that the weapon should be demonstrated before it was used… the war was very nearly over. The Japanese were nearly ready to capitulate… My proposal… was that the weapon should be demonstrated over… a large forest of cryptomeria trees not far from Tokyo… Would lay the trees out in windrows from the centre of the explosion in all directions as though they were matchsticks, and, of course, set them afire in the centre. It seemed to me that a demonstration of this sort would prove to the Japanese that we could destroy any of their cities at will… Secretary Forrestal agreed wholeheartedly with the recommendation… It seemed to me that such a weapon was not necessary to bring the war to a successful conclusion, that once used it would find its way into the armaments of the world…"
 
Warning Should Have First Been Given
 
General George Marshall agreed: "’these weapons might first be used against straight military objectives such as a large naval installation and… a number of large manufacturing areas from which the people would be warned to leave – telling the Japanese that we intend to destroy such centres….’"
 
Targeting Civilians
 
Neither Hiroshima nor Nagasaki were deemed militarily vital by U.S. planners. (This is one of the reasons neither had been heavily bombed up to this point in the war.) Moreover, targeting at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was aimed explicitly on non-military facilities surrounded by workers’ homes.

Historians agree that nuclear weapons did not need to be used to stop the war or to save lives. As historian Doug Long notes: "U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission historian J. Samuel Walker writes, ‘The consensus among scholars is that the bomb was not needed to avoid an invasion of Japan and to end the war within a relatively short time. It is clear that alternatives to the bomb existed and that Truman and his advisors knew it.’" (J. Politicians Agreed that Atomic Bombs were Not Needed
 
Ex-president Herbert Hoover said: "The Japanese were prepared to negotiate all the way from February 1945… up to and before the time the atomic bombs were dropped;… if such leads had been followed up, there would have been no occasion to drop the atomic bombs."
 
The Japanese Wanted to End the War
 
Under Secretary of State Joseph Grew noted: "In the light of available evidence I myself and others felt that if such a categorical statement about the retention of the dynasty had been issued in May, 1945, the surrender-minded elements in the Japanese government might well have been afforded by such a statement a valid reason and the necessary strength to come to an early clear cut decision. If surrender could have been brought about in May, 1945, or even in June or July, before the entrance of Soviet Russia into the Pacific war and the use of the atomic bomb, the world would have been the gainer."
 
Why Then Were Atom Bombs Dropped on Japan?
 
If dropping nuclear bombs was unnecessary to end the war, or to save lives, why was the decision to drop them made? Especially over the objections of so many tRuins of largest Church in Asiaop military and political figures?
 
Scientists Like to Test their Toys
 
One theory is that scientists like to play with their new toys: On September 9, 1945, Admiral William F. Halsey, commander of the Third Fleet, was publicly quoted extensively as stating that the atomic bomb was used because the scientists had a "toy and they wanted to try it out… The first atomic bomb was an unnecessary experiment… It was a mistake to ever drop it."
 
Even Scientists Opposed Using the Atom Bomb
 
However, most of the Manhattan Project scientists, who developed the atom bomb, were opposed to using it on Japan. The scientists questioned the ability of destroying Japanese cities with atomic bombs to bring surrender when destroying Japanese cities with conventional bombs had not done so. They recommended a demonstration of the atomic bomb in an unpopulated area of Japan.
 
Precipitating an Atomic Arms Race
 
Albert Einstein, an important catalyst for the development of the atom bomb (but not directly connected with the Manhattan Project), said: "’A great majority of scientists were opposed to the sudden employment of the atom bomb’. In Einstein’s judgment, the dropping of the bomb was a political, diplomatic decision rather than a military or scientific decision. Indeed, some of the Manhattan Project scientists wrote directly to the Secretary of Defense in 1945 to try to dissuade him from dropping the bomb. ‘We believe that these considerations make the use of nuclear bombs for an early, unannounced attack against Japan inadvisable. If the United States would be the first to release this new means of indiscriminate destruction upon mankind, she would sacrifice public support throughout the world, precipitate the race of armaments, and prejudice the possibility of reaching an international agreement on the future control of such weapons." Launching the Cold War
 
History.com notes: "In the years since the two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan, a number of historians have suggested that the weapons had a two-pronged objective…. It has been suggested that the second objective was to demonstrate the new weapon of mass destruction to the Soviet Union. By August 1945, relations between the Soviet Union and the United States had deteriorated badly. The Potsdam Conference between U.S. President Harry S. Truman, Russian leader Joseph Stalin, and Winston Churchill (before being replaced by Clement Attlee) ended just four days before the bombing of Hiroshima. The meeting was marked by recriminations and suspicion between the Americans and Soviets. Russian armies were occupying most of Eastern Europe. Truman and many of his advisers hoped that the U.S. atomic monopoly might offer diplomatic leverage with the Soviets. In this fashion, the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan can be seen as the first shot of the Cold War."

The conventional explanation of using the bombs to end the war and save lives is disputed by Peter Kuznick and Mark Selden, historians from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. New studies of the US, Japanese and Soviet diplomatic archives suggest that Truman’s main motive was to limit Soviet expansion in Asia.
 
New Scientist reported in 2005: "The US decision to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 was meant to kick-start the Cold War rather than end the Second World War, according to two nuclear historians who say they have new evidence backing the controversial theory. Causing a fission reaction in several kilograms of uranium and plutonium and killing over 200,000 people was done more to impress the Soviet Union than to cow Japan. ‘He knew he was beginning the process of annihilation of the species’, says Peter Kuznick, director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University in Washington DC, US. ‘It was not just a war crime; it was a crime against humanity.’"
 
Japan was Searching for Peace
 
According to an account by Walter Brown, Assistant to US Secretary of State James Byrnes, Truman agreed at a meeting three days before the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima that Japan was ‘looking for peace’. Truman was told by his army generals, Douglas MacArthur and Dwight Eisenhower, and his Naval Chief of Staff, William Leahy, that there was no military need to use the bomb. "Impressing Russia was more important than ending the war in Japan."
 
Russia was our Real Enemy not Japan
 
John Pilger points out: "The US Secretary of War, Henry Stimson, told President Truman he was ‘fearful’ that the US Air Force would have Japan so ‘bombed out’ that the new weapon would not be able ‘to show its strength’. He later admitted that ‘no effort was made, and none was seriously considered, to achieve surrender’… General Leslie Groves, Director of the Manhattan Project that made the bomb, testified: ‘There was never any illusion on my part that Russia was our enemy, and that the project was conducted on that basis.’ The day after Hiroshima was obliterated, President Truman voiced his satisfaction with the ‘overwhelming success’ of ‘the experiment’".
 
Conservatives Opposed the Atom Bomb as Immoral
 
University of Maryland professor of political economy, and former Legislative Director in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, and Special Assistant in the Department of State, Gar Alperovitz declared: "Though most Americans are unaware of the fact, increasing numbers of historians now recognize the United States did not need to use the atomic bomb to end the war against Japan in 1945. Moreover, this essential judgment was expressed by the vast majority of top American military leaders in all three services in the years after the war ended: Army, Navy and Air Force. Nor was this the judgment of ‘liberals’, as is sometimes thought today. In fact, leading conservatives were far more outspoken in challenging the decision as unjustified and immoral than American liberals in the years following World War II.
 
Serving the Cause of Communism in Asia
 
"Instead of allowing other options to end the war, the United States rushed to use two atomic bombs at almost exactly the time that an 8 August Soviet attack had originally been scheduled: Hiroshima on 6 August and Nagasaki on 9 August. The timing itself has obviously raised questions among many historians."
 
Unnecessary
 
The most illuminating perspective, however, comes from top World War II American military leaders. The conventional wisdom that the atomic bomb saved a million lives is so widespread that most Americans haven’t paused to ponder something rather striking to anyone seriously concerned with the issue: Not only did most top U.S. military leaders think the bombings were unnecessary and unjustified, many were morally offended by what they regarded as the unnecessary destruction of Japanese cities and what were essentially noncombat populations. Moreover, they spoke about it quite openly and publicly.
 
A Political Decision
 
General George C. Marshall is on record as repeatedly saying that it was not a military decision, but rather a political one.
 
Official Protest
 
On 11 August 1945, the Japanese government filed an official protest over the atomic bombing to the U.S. State Department through the Swiss Legation in Tokyo, observing: "Combatant and non-combatant men and women, old and young, are massacred without discrimination by the atmospheric pressure of the explosion, as well as by the radiating heat which result therefrom. Consequently there is involved a bomb having the most cruel effects humanity has ever known… The bombs in question, used by the Americans, by their cruelty and by their terrorizing effects, surpass by far gas or any other arm, the use of which is prohibited. Japanese protests against U.S. desecration of international principles of war paired the use of the atomic bomb with the earlier firebombing, which massacred old people, women and children, destroying and burning down Shinto and Buddhist temples, schools, hospitals, living quarters, etc. They now use this new bomb, having an uncontrollable and cruel effect much greater than any other arms or projectiles ever used to date. This constitutes a new crime against humanity and civilization."
 
Judicial Review
 
In 1963, the bombings were the subject of a judicial review. The District Court of Tokyo found, "the attacks upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki caused such severe and indiscriminate suffering that they did violate the most basic legal principles governing the conduct of war."
 
TheHiroshima Ground zero Hague Conventions
 
In the opinion of the court, the act of dropping an atomic bomb on cities was at the time governed by International Law found in the Hague Regulations on Land Warfare of 1907 and the Hague Draft Rules of Air Warfare of 1922 – 1923 and was therefore illegal.
 
War Crime
 
In the documentary The Fog of War, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara recalled General Curtis LeMay, who relayed the Presidential order to drop nuclear bombs on Japan, said: "If we’d lost the war, we’d all have been prosecuted as war criminals. And I think he’s right. He, and I’d say I, were behaving as war criminals. LeMay recognized that what he was doing would be thought immoral if his side had lost. But what makes it immoral if you lose and not immoral if you win?"
 
Indiscriminate Mass Murder
 
Takashi Hiraoka, Mayor of Hiroshima, said in a hearing to The Hague International Court of Justice (ICJ): "It is clear that the use of nuclear weapons, which cause indiscriminate mass murder that leaves effects on survivors for decades, is a violation of international law". Iccho Itoh, the mayor of Nagasaki, declared in the same hearing: "It is said that the descendants of the atomic bomb survivors will have to be monitored for several generations to clarify the genetic impact, which means that the descendants will live in anxiety for [decades] to come… with their colossal power and capacity for slaughter and destruction, nuclear weapons make no distinction between combatants and non-combatants or between military installations and civilian communities… The use of nuclear weapons… therefore is a manifest infraction of international law."
 
Genocide
 
University of Chicago historian Bruce Cumings states there is a consensus among historians "the Nagasaki bomb was gratuitous at best and genocidal at worst."
 
Democide
 
Professor R.J. Rummel’s definition of democide includes not only genocide, but also an excessive killing of civilians in war, to the extent this is against the agreed rules for warfare; he argues the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were war crimes, and thus democide. Rummel quotes among others an official protest from the US government in 1938 to Japan, for its bombing of Chinese cities: "The bombing of non-combatant populations violated international and humanitarian laws." He also considers excess deaths of civilians in conflagrations caused by conventional means, such as in the Tokyo bombings, as acts of democide.
 
Terrorism
 
In 1967, Noam Chomsky described the atomic bombings as "among the most unspeakable crimes in history". Chomsky pointed to the complicity of the American people in the bombings. The definition of terrorism is "the targeting of innocent civilians to achieve a political goal".
 
Unnecessary Suffering and Destruction
 
The Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907 set rules in place regarding the attack of civilian populations. The Hague Conventions stated that religious buildings, art and science centres, charities, hospitals, and historic monuments, were to be spared as far as possible in a bombardment, unless they were being used for military purposes. The Hague Conventions also prohibited the employment of "arms, projectiles, or material calculated to cause unnecessary suffering".

Mitsuo Fuchida ~ From Pearl Harbour to Calvary

Mitsuo Fuchida (1902-1976) is best known for leading the devastating air attack on Pearl Harbour, 7 December 1941. After the war, Fuchida became a Christian Evangelist, who conducted Evangelistic outreaches throughout Japan, the United States and Europe.
 
Japanese Naval Aviator
 
Mitsuo FuchidaFuchida was the son of the Master of the Primary School in Kashihara. His grandfather was a Samurai. Mitsuo Fuchida entered the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy in 1921, graduated as a mid-shipman in 1924, was promoted to Ensign in 1925, and sub-Lieutenant in 1927. He specialised in horizontal bombing and gained combat experience during the Sino-Japanese War, when he was assigned to the aircraft carrier, Kaga, in 1929. Promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 1936, he was accepted into the Naval Staff College and joined the aircraft carrier Akagi in 1939, as Commander of the Air Group.
 
Attack on Pearl Harbour
 
In October 1941, Fuchida Take off to Shokakuwas made Commander. Under the command of Vice Admiral Nagumo, with 6 aircraft carriers, and 423 aircraft, Commander Fuchida was responsible for the co-ordination of the aerial attack on the US Pacific Fleet. He was in the first wave of 183 dive-bombers, torpedo-bombers, level-bombers and fighters, which took off from carriers 370 km North of Oahu and targeted the US Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbour. At 07:40 (Hawaiian Standard Time), Fuchida ordered "Tenkai!" ("Take attack position!"), slid back the canopy of his Nakajima Kate torpedo bomber and fired a green flare to signal attack. He then instructed his radio operator to send the coded signal "To, to, to" ("strike!").
 
Tora! Tora! Tora!
 
At 7:53, Fuchida sent the code words "Tora!
Tora! Tora!" back to the carrier Akagi, the flagship, to report that complete surprise had been achieved. Tora was the acronym for Tosugeki Raigeki (torpedo attack) and in Japanese Tora means Tiger.
 
Attack at Dawn
 
Japan attackWhen the attack on Pearl Harbour hit, at 7:55am, many American sailors, or soldiers, were on leave, or sleeping late. 7 Battleships were lined up on battleship row. The Oklahoma capsized. The West Virginia and California was sunk. The Nevada was damaged and beached near the mouth of Pearl Harbour. Tennessee, Maryland and Pennsylvania were damaged. 10 Other ships were sunk or seriously damaged. The Arizona sank with 2,000 sailors on board, after a stupendous explosion of its forward magazine. (Just 8 days earlier, the American’s had published a picture of the Arizona with the words: "It is significant that despite the claims of air enthusiasts, no battleship has yet been sunk by bombs." Pride goes before a fall.)
 
As the first wave returned to the carriers, Fuchida remained over the target to access damage and to observe the second wave attack. He returned to his carrier only after the secnd wave had completed its mission. 21 large flack holes were found in his aircraft, the main control wires were barely holding together and it is incredible that he survived so many hits to his aircraft. The Japanese lost 29 aircraft in the attack on Pearl Harbour. The US Pacific Fleet lost 21 ships – including almost every battleship – 188 aircraft destroyed, another 159 damaged and 2,403 lives lost. In Fuchida’s Memoirs, he remarks being upset by the Admiral’s cancelling of the third wave attack, which would have destroyed Pearl Harbour’s fuel tanks and dry dock facilities. Pearl Harbour bombing"I was upset and thought, ‘What stupidity!’ But the decision belonged to the Commander. It would not do any good if I complained.". Years later, Fuchida said that while he mourned those who died aboard the USS Arizona and other ships, he did not regret his role in the Pearl Harbour attack. It was war, he said. After the successful Pearl Harbour attack, Fuchida was granted an audience with the Emperor.
 
Wounded at Midway
 
On 19 February 1942, Fuchida led the first of two waves of 188 aircraft in an air raid on Darwin, Australia. On 5 April, he led another series of air attacks against the Royal Navy bases in Ceylon. In June 1942, Fuchida was recovering from an emergency shipboard appendectomy, when he was wounded at the Battle of Midway. He was on the ship’s bridge during the morning attacks by US aircraft. As Akagi was hit, a chain reaction from the burning fuel and live bombs began the destruction of the ship. An explosion threw him to the deck and he broke his ankle.
 
A Hand of Protection
 
Captain FuchidaAfter recuperation Fuchida spent the rest of the war as a staff officer. Two weeks before the American invasion of Guam, Fuchida was ordered to Tokyo. When the Japanese failed to repel the invasion, Vice Admiral Kakuta and his staff chose Seppuku, the Samurai suicide ritual of disembowelment. "Again the sword of death had missed me only by inches." Fuchida declared. "What did it mean?"
 
Hiroshima Bombing
 
The day before the first atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, he was in that city to attend a conference. A long distance call from naval headquarters required him to return to Tokyo. As he ate breakfast in Yamato, 200km away, Fuchida learned that everyone he had been working with in Hiroshima had perished in the atomic explosion. The day after the atomic bombing, he returned to Hiroshima to access the damage. All of the members of Fuchida’s party died of radiation poisoning, but Fuchida exhibited no symptoms. Each of the Officers who had accompanied Fuchida, to investigate the devastation in Hiroshima, showed strange signs of illness. One by one they died through radiation poisoning. As Fuchida returned to Kashirhara, to help his wife raise their children, he was depressed: "Life had no taste, or meaning… I had missed death so many times and for what. What did it all mean?"
War Crimes Trials
 
Picture1After the war, Fuchida was called to testify at the trials of Japanese military leaders. When General Douglas McArthur summoned Fuchida to testify in the Tokyo War Crimes trials, Captain Fuchida was disgusted and declared that everyone should know that "War was war" and that cruel acts occurred on both sides. The petty vindictiveness of the Allies infuriated him and he denounced the "victor’s justice."
Love For One’s Enemies
 
In 1947, he met his former flight engineer, Kazuo Kanegasaki, who he thought had died in the Battle of Midway. However Kanegasaki reported that a young Christian woman, Peggy Covell, had cared for them, in the prison camps, despite her Missionary parents having been killed by Japanese soldiers on the Island of Panay, in the Philippines. Peggy Covell’s parents were Missionary teachers in Japan until 1939. They then relocated to the Philippines. The Japanese conquered the Philippines in 1941. They beheaded both of Peggy’s parents on Sunday morning, 19 December 1943. To Fuchida, this love for one’s enemies was inexplicable as the Bushido code required revenge against the murder of one’s parents to restore honour. He became obsessed with trying to understand why anyone would treat their enemies with kindness and forgiveness.
 
Inspiring Example
 
The Covell FamilyThe extraordinary example of Peggy Covell and Jacob De Shazer inspired Fuchida to know more about the God of the Christians. When Japanese Prisoners of War asked the young 18-year old Peggy Covell why she volunteered to help them, her reply was: "Because Japanese soldiers killed my parents." When Peggy considered her parent’s sacrificial service for the Kingdom of God, and their love for the Japanese people, she was convinced that she must continue their Mission, reaching Japanese for Christ. As Fuchida researched from every source in the Philippines that knew the Covells, he learned that they had been forced to their knees by their captives and they had prayed together as they were about to be beheaded. They had prayed for the Japanese!
 
Literature Evangelism
 
In 1948, as Fuchida was passing by the bronze statue of Hachiko at the Shibuya station, he was handed a pamphlet about the life of Jacob De Shazer, a member of the Doolittle Raid, who was captured when his B-25 bomber ran out of fuel in occupied China. In the pamphlet: "I was a Prisoner of Japan", De Shazer, a former US Army Air Force staff sergeant and bombardier, related his testimony of imprisonment, torture and awakening to God.
 
Doolittle Raid Bombers
 
DoolittleJacob De Shazer was the bombardier of B-25 No.16. After taking off from USS Hornet and dropping bombs on Nagoya, Japan, they flew to China, but ran out of fuel over Japanese controlled China. They were captured after parachuting to the ground. De Shazer was imprisoned for 40 months, 34 of these months in solitary confinement. He was beaten, malnourished and 3 of his crew were executed by firing squad. The fourth member, Lt. Bob Meder died of starvation. After 25 months of hating his captives, a Bible came into his hands, for only three weeks, but it changed his life completely. He began to learn Japanese and to treat his captives with respect. He resolved to bring the Message of Christ to Japan. After returning to the USA, De Shazer attended Seattle Pacific College and returned to Japan to preach the Gospel. He established a church in Nagoya, the very city he had bombed years before. Fuchida became intrigued with the Christian Faith. The shocking examples of Christians able to forgive their enemies staggered Fuchida. "That’s when I met Jesus. Looking back I can see now that the Lord had laid His hand upon me so that I might serve Him."
 
The Power of the Printed Page
 
Fuchida read the tract on the spot and on the train he saw an advertisement for a book with the same title. When he disembarked, he headed for a book store and purchased it. De Shazer’s story engrossed Fuchida. Determined to understand what had motivated De Shazer, Fuchida bought a Bible from a Japanese man on the street. When he read "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:24), Fuchida realised that this was what the Covells had been praying before their execution.
 
Faith Comes From Hearing the Word of God
 
In 1949, Fuchida purchased a Bible at the same Shibuyu station where he had received a pamphlet. As he read the Gospels he came to understand the reason for the life of forgiveness and mercy that motivated Peggy and Jacob. It was the crucifixion of Jesus and His Words in the Gospel: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." On 14th April 1950, he surrendered to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.
 
The Power of God
 
By the time he had completed reading the Gospel of Luke, Fuchida had become a Christian. He knew no Christians, but now he began to declare himself to be a Christian. As Christianity was considered the "occupation religion" in Japan, this brought him much reproach from his former friends and family. Pietsch and Glenn Wagner, of the Pocket Testament League of Japan met with Fuchida and encouraged him to join them in open air outreach.
 
Open Air Preaching
 
Open air preachingIn the business section of Osaka, as the Americans stood to speak, fewer than 40 Japanese would stop to listen. But when Fuchida, Hero of Pearl Harbour, was introduced, the crowd swelled rapidly. Rush hour traffic stopped. Hundreds gathered, even the police listened in.
 
Japan for Christ
 
This was the beginning of Fuchida’s new career as an Evangelist. Soon he filled an auditorium in Osaka, 500 Japanese came forward at that rally. Almost every newspaper in Japan reported on it: He described his conversion as "It was like having the sun rise." He preached against Japanese-egocentrism and xenophobia. Like Paul on Mars Hill (Acts 17:16-34), he used Japanese cultural examples to communicate the Gospel of Christ. Captain Fuchida went from being a vital part of Japan’s military attack on the United States, to being a vital part of God’s Missionary offensive into the hearts, minds and souls of Japanese, and later Americans and Europeans too.
 
Fuchida and De Shazer
 
In May 1950, Fuchida and De Shazer met for the first time. In May he visited De Shazer, knocked on his door and said: "I have desired to meet you, Mr De Shazer. My name is Mitsuo Fuchida." De Shazer recognised the name and said: "Come in! Come in!" The former enemies embraced as brothers in Christ.
 
War Author
 
MidwayIn 1951, Fuchida published an account ofpicture the Battle of Midway and in 1952 he toured the United States as a member of the Worldwide Christian Missionary Army of Sky Pilots. In February 1954, Readers Digest published Fuchida’s story of the attack on Pearl Harbour. Fuchida wrote – From Pearl Harbour to Golgotha (later renamed – From Pearl Harbour to Calvary) and a 1955 expansion of his book: Midway – The Battle that Doomed Japan, the Japanese Navy Story. His autobiography – For That One Day, The Memoirs of Mitsuo Fuchida, Commander of the Attack on Pearl Harbour, was published in Japan 2007 and translated into English and published in 2011.
 
The Turning Point
 
In Midway: The Battle that Doomed Japan, Fuchida wrote: "Five minutes! Who would have believed that the tide of battle would shift in that brief interval of time? …We have been caught flat-footed in the most vulnerable position possible, decks loaded with planes armed and fuelled for attack."
 
Courage and Self-Sacrifice
 
Fuchida turned down an offer from the Japanese government to organise their new Air Force, he faced down an angry pilot who pulled a knife and threatened to kill him. This man later came to Christ. Fuchida ministered in prisons and led people to Christ, even in the cells of condemned murderers. He formed Calvary Clubs in prisons.
 
The Blood of the Martyrs
 
Mitsuo Fuchida related the testimony of Peggy Covell and her brave parents all over Japan. He quoted her testimony: "But the Holy Spirit has washed away my hatred and has replaced it with love." The Covells had gone to their death singing hymns joyfully and praying for the conversion of their enemies. The Blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church. Mitsuo Fuchida was one of the fruit of their Faith.
 
Fuchida spent the rest of his life as an Evangelist, taking the Gospel of Christ throughout Japan, the United States of America and Europe.

J Bay Winter Fest 2015 Evangelism

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Jeffreys Bay Winter Fest LogoThe Jeffreys Bay Winter Fest 2015 was scheduled from 8-19 July in South Africa. The various sporting codes would be the World Surf League (WSL) Open, the Billabong Junior Series surfing, Core Sokkie Joll skateboarding, Funduro, MTB, Cold Water swimming, and other events.
 
Gary had travelled down from Pietermaritzburg in KZN to Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape on Monday July 13 and returned July 20 – a total round trip with the seed-sower of 2094.7kms. GOD was gracious in providing safe travels all round ~ Hallelujah!
 
Thankful for the hospitality of missionary church-planters Dave and Pam Webster who lovingly opened their home for the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and the wonderful fellowship enjoyed together. We are also thankful for all the prayers that have been offered before the Throne of Grace and especially to Living Hope Baptist Church and JBay Bible Church and also by the brethren on Facebook. Gary met with two Brothers from JBay Bible Church on Tuesday July 14 who were willing to come out of their comfort zones to make Gospel tract distribution and confront the fear of man by having evangelistic conversations down at the main WSL Open surfing event. It was a real challenge first day up-on-the-box and with Jancey and Jaycee experiencing first hand the wiles of the enemy – that serpent the devil – against the preaching of the cross! We set up outside theGary outside the main entrance perimeter fencing of the WSL event’s site – knowing full well the legal restrictions and where public property was – but it was just a matter of minutes before complaints were made to the local WSL organisers/security who tried to summarily shut down the preaching ministry. However, Gary knew our constitutional rights to freedom of speech, expression, and to associate or disassociate with any person as well as the freedom of religion.
 
Preaching the cross! We were preaching the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, a message of hope, warning of two ways in life, a narrow way that leads to eternal life and a broad way that leads to eternal damnation in Hell (see Matthew 7:13,14), when we were then confronted by various persons wanting to stop the Word of GOD being made known on Da Gama Road outside the world renowned Supertubes! Whilst the preaching of the gospel is the power of GOD unto salvation to those that believe,
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. ~ Romans 1:16
the preaching of the cross is also foolishness to them that are perishing,
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18
Please note that while ministers of the Gospel are out on the streets at worldly events, we are not there to “pick a fight”, but to make known a Redeemer who can save the souls of unbelievers from an eternity in Hell, because of their wilful evil and wicked sin against their Creator! We speak the Truth in love (see Ephesians 4:15). Whilst most souls in attendance at these events do not wish to hear the Word of God being proclaimed, it does not excuse them from appearing before the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ and to give an accounting of their lives upon earth according to the books which will be opened (see Revelation 20:11-15), as it is written:
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. ~ Hebrews 9:27,28
Needless to say, the preaching continued and the following testimony by Brother Jaycee is evident that our labour and stand in boldness was not in vain:
One of the biggest challenges that one can face is standing boldly for your faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Fear of man is one of those things that seems to get to even the strongest among our brothers.
 
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with Gary at the J Bay Open. While the event is in the world media due to the shark encounter, it will stick in my mind forever for the right reasons.
 
Gary and two of us went to the event to share the gospel on Tuesday. There was some commotion with the organizers as they felt that spreading the gospel should not be done there, but Gary stood strong and – he continued to do what he does best – preached.
 
I handed out some tracts, although the opportunity to have a one on one conversation with someone did not come my way, I had the privilege to observe how the message of the gospel affected the passersby. It was heartbreaking to see a young boy, about 11 years old, heckle and shout that there is no God. He was aggressive and had a lot to say about the man preaching, when my brother gave him and his friend one of the “What If” tracts, he tore his up immediately and ripped his friend’s out of his hand and tore it up too. He was part of a group of young people, and there was this girl, somewhat older that was part of this group, she came closer and spent a while listening intently to what was being said. The rest of the group called her to sit with them, about 15m away. I watched her, and my heart was so glad to see how she repositioned her body, tilted her head to make sure she could still hear what Gary was saying.
 
There [also] was this one guy that shouted from a distance that Gary should stop screaming at him, and then the surfer dude that I thought was a real beach bum (the danger of taking a book by its cover) he walked past and loudly said, “Preach It Brother!!” It is amazing to see the different responses from the people when they are faced with the truth. There was a young mother that stood next to me and listened to the word for a long time. When she left she asked me to thank Gary.
 
Back at home that afternoon, I reflected on the day and was overcome with the power there is in an outreach like that morning, we will never know who heard and to who’s conscience was spoken. There is power in spreading the gospel this way.
 
I only came to know how the ministry works and how important it is, when two days later I parked my car about 50m away from the spot we whereat, and the car guard greeted me with “Morning pastor” although I am not a pastor, it just showed that even if we did not see him that day he was reached. As I walked toward the gate another car guard shouted, “Yes for Jesus.” As long as we just do what is commanded and spread the Gospel, there will be ears to hear.

Which brings us to the WSL Open Final and the “shark attack” on Australian Mick Fanning. Whilst much speculation can be given as to the shark attack, let me tell you what GOD’s Word tells us. GOD is in control of all things. And whilst the organisers/security tried to silence on Tuesday afore-stated the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all (see Acts 10:36), for every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father (see Philippians 2:10,11), all the happenings that unfolded were GOD ordained. HE controlled the weather, even the rainy conditions over most of the week and the lack of favourable surfing conditions, to the very last act of HIS grace towards Mick Fanning that the Australian was not harmed showing HIS goodness, as we can read:

Are You Ready? The question posed, not only to Mick Fanning, but to every single person on planet earth, is: Are YOU Ready? The Scriptures are clear that if you die unredeemed by the Lamb of GOD who taketh away the sins of the world, who lay down HIS life and was bruised for our iniquity, who paid our fine that is deserving of death and eternity in Hell with HIS precious blood as a substitutionary atonement for our wretched sins, if you have not the righteousness of GOD through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ upon the cross and by HIS death and resurrection, you will stand condemned and worthy of eternal punishment in the lake of fire which is the second death! Friend, you are not guaranteed tomorrow. Life can be taken at any moment in time. Mick Fanning was fortunate his soul was not required of him on Sunday July 19, 2015, and that GOD – the Only True and Living GOD YHVH – was gracious and mercifully gave a warning, not only to Mick Fanning, but to every eye witness who saw the events unfolding live on international television, and to those also fortunate enough to have heard the preaching of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at Jeffreys Bay. Don’t be mocking as the Australian spectator (?) was on Tuesday July 14, 2015, who said the Bible is metaphorical implying it cannot be trusted, or the incidences mentioned here-above, for it is written:
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. ~ Galatians 6:7
Not even “heroic works” seen as good deeds, for example those done by fellow Australian and JBay Open finalist Julian Wilson and/or the water safety team will help a person before the Great White Throne Judgment Seat. Good deeds do not help with one’s salvation. Only whether you are born-again (see John 3:3,7) by the Spirit of God will help. So, TODAY repent and believe and be saved. Do you not know that GOD worketh repentance to those HE calls? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. ~ Ephesians 2:8,9
Man can think he has control over his life, but GOD ordains everything – including when you will enter eternity, so do make absolutely sure that you are ready to face the Judge of the Universe Who is a Perfect, Holy, Righteous, Good GOD . . .

Whilst all the events were taking place in and around Jeffreys Bay in cold, windy and wet weather, the fellowship and worship with like-minded GOD loving believers were priceless. Besides a lengthy discussion with a young surfer at Supertubes named Francois, the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was also shared with car guards – one being Vuyani who wanted to know more, young children and teenagers like Bruce who wanted prayer both spiritual and for physical healing from a sport’s injury, and some young adult men – Wayne, Stevelin, Jaydrian and Zane – who were hanging out shooting hoops at a basketball court and who heard the Gospel and were challenged. The evangelism and fellowship was not only about the JBay Winter Fest – it went a whole lot wider and further and we give all our praises to our Most High GOD for that! Please do keep all in prayer for their salvation, which salvation is of GOD! The week ended with sweet fellowship and worship at JBBC.

In closing, to all the various religious and spiritual persons out here in cyberspace reading this article, know this . . . the Son of GOD, the manifestation of GOD the Creator (see John 1:1,2,14) made it abundantly clear when HE said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
