Ukhozi FM Concert 2015 Evangelism

Gary preaching
On Saturday June 13, 2015 Brothers Lungisa and Gary headed out to evangelise at the secular music concert taking place at The Oval in Alexandra Park, Pietermaritzburg.

This music event was usually held on the last day of the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) Show being the tenth day. However, this year the music concert was not held as in the past and even though Ukhozi FM and the RAS had advertised in the media that the date had been changed, huge crowds of “concert-goers” still came out in their masses on Sunday June 7, 2015! As over the years a huge street party ensued with much drinking, debauchery and crime being the order of the day.

In 2013, Lungisa and Gary had made a video warning of the under-aged drinking of alcohol by school children and even with the presence of the SAPS and the Msunduzi Traffic law-enforcement officers, crime was out of control. Back then there were criminal activities taking place in broad daylight and nothing was done about it. It was just a matter of time for the criminal safe_image activities to get out of control. And so it was on Sunday June 7, 2015 at about 18H00 with the “street party” unsanctioned by RAS and Ukhozi FM and therefore not “supervised” by law agencies, drunkenness spilled over into, what was reported as, gang related violence on an old horse polo field and a 19 year old fatally stabbed a Mooi River young man named “Themba” multiple times! Another murder had taken place upon the streets of Pietermaritzburg at a “fun-event”! The reports can be read Here (The Citizen) and Here (Public Eye Maritzburg).

From our + 5 hours ministering out there on Sunday, the crowds coming to the event were “much better” behaved than the total abandonment that we have seen at past events. However, there was still alcohol consumption and a few drunk children that we saw and heard. It could also be the case that they were “partied-out” from last week, but the crowds picked up steadily during the morning and early afternoon. Hundreds of Gospel tracts were handed out, some conversations had and the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was proclaimed and high and lifted up! We have a three part part-open-air preaching by Brother Lungisa in isiZulu before the battery on our camera died!

Kindly keep all in your prayers of those who had an ear to hear the Word of God and that our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ would have saved the elect this day!

Soli Deo Gloria!
