Today was a public holiday – Worker’s Day, May 1, 2015, and it is Day 37 of our street evangelism, taking the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the masses ~ to every tribe, tongue and nationality!
Today Marius, Jono and Gary would be making Gospel tract distribution in the Scottsville area. In 2hrs 50mins we tracted 317 houses and distributed +700 pieces of Gospel literature, including 33 individuals who came across our paths.
Gary and Marius had two very receptive conversations. The first was with three Zimbabweans, named Tiko, and spouses Onward and Tsitsi on Maud Road. A question of Hell was raised as they said no-one has been there and come back to confirm it – so how does it exist? We addressed this matter and Marius shared the account that our Lord Jesus spoke of being Lazarus and the Rich Man (Luke 16:19-31). Gary then dealt with false teachings and also addressed Onwards’ Roman Catholic faith when he raised the point of denominations. We all were in agreement that denominations divide – cause schisms. Throughout all three Zimbabweans listened intently and they were truly appreciative for our time to share Truth with them, even thanking us. They were extremely friendly neighbours and it can only be wretched, evil and wicked devil-possessed people that could harm, maim or butcher-to-death a fellow man because of his nationality! When Gary said Onwards’ accent sounded foreign, Onward was a bit apprehensive, but we assured them that they are safe with us as we as Christians are totally against the Xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals.
The second conversation was with three young varsity students – Sandile had to “run”, but a lengthy discussion with Sphumandla and Themba ensued with Gary – while Marius and Jono continued tracting down Christie Road – as we addressed the ancestral traditions, the holiness of God, the abomination of mixing the holy with the profane, and Deuteronomy 18:10-12, which reads as follows:
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. ~ Deuteronomy 18:10-12
They also were examined by the Law through the “Good Person Test” and then Grace was shown through the sacrificial atonement of Jesus Christ on the cross for their sins as the full Gospel was shared with them. They were very open and accepting of the Truth of God’s Word and were asking searching questions looking for answers. Please uphold these young men in your prayers for their salvation from God.
Many other brief conversations were had with other individuals on the streets of Scottsville. Please pray for every person’s salvation through what they heard today and the written Word of God made available to them. We are so thankful to our Father in Heaven for answering our prayers of individuals being brought across our paths to give witness and the testimony of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Brother Marius drove his vehicle to the various points along the way and also tracted the areas ahead of Jono and Gary who walked the distance carrying the “Are You Ready” cross. On completion of our time out on the streets we returned to Gary’s home for prayer, lunch and fellowship rejoicing in the Goodness of God!
Our Scottsville route today was: Alexandra – Jesmond – Maud – Lamond – Maud – Isabel – Maud – Vere – Maud – Lindup – Poland – Christie.
